Northwell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care under supervision and to support clinical and clerical operations in the workflow of patient care. The role involves preparing treatment spaces, obtaining vital signs, assisting clinicians, and handling specimen collection with attention to infection control.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of a 6–12 month Medical Assisting program OR 1–3 years of Medical Assistant experience is required.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations and ensures cleanliness and supplies.
• Interviews patients to obtain medical information and perform measurement and screening procedures.
• Prepares patient for examination and treatment.
• Obtains vital statistics including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature and other measurements.
• Records findings in the medical record and informs clinician of results.
• Collects specimens and completes requisitions, labels and routes specimens accordingly.
• Performs EKGs as required and assists clinician during procedures.
• Provides instruments and assists in positioning and draping during procedures.
• Schedules and confirms patient appointments and handles related clerical tasks.
• Ensures equipment is sterilized, calibrated and functioning; reports malfunctions.
