Functions as a Medical Office Assistant in a professional medical office environment. Responsibilities include processing patient visits using a clinical EMR system, receiving incoming calls, routing electronic phone notes, facilitating patient check-out, running reports, preparing cash drawers for deposits, processing medical claims and payments. The individual will work a rotating late shift periodically with other Medical Office Assistants. Candidates should have a working knowledge of medical office procedures, proper coding, and data entry. Maintaining strict confidentiality of patient health information is essential. Effective listening, communication, and customer service skills are required. All other duties as assigned. This position requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: High School/GED, four years of clerical and/or customer service experience, ability to handle cash accurately.
Preferred Qualifications: One year of medical office experience, ability to perform all tasks independently with minimal supervision.
