A leading healthcare institution in Syracuse is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care and documentation. The role involves collaborating with physicians, preparing treatment rooms, and managing medical records. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, medical assistant training, and BLS certification. This position offers a structured work schedule and comprehensive benefits, including health insurance and paid time off.
Learn about the medical process and utilize a team approach in patient supervision and documentation. Collaborate with a supervising Physician or Doctor to complete and submit medical records. Communicate professionally with patients and supervising Physicians. Prepare treatment rooms, interview patients, and measure/record patient information such as vital signs, medications, and history. Process orders including entry, insurance authorization, and referrals. Assist patients with forms required by specialty areas and help with their completion. Support cleaning and restocking of patient rooms, sterilize instruments using proper procedures (e.g., autoclave), and handle clerical duties like scheduling, maintaining records, and insurance forms. Provide support to staff as needed, be flexible to float between areas, and assist with referrals and other duties as assigned. Seek guidance from the Nurse Manager on clinical tasks and adhere to practice policies and procedures.
EPIC EMR experience is preferred.
Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm, with potential for evenings and weekends in the future.

Salary Range: $16.00 - $25.88 per hour.
