Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks across the clinical and front office areas of the practice.

Responsibilities include clerical duties, patient flow coordination, and assisting clinicians to deliver health care and patient care support in line with the Medical Assistant program education and experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six months’ experience with computers, Microsoft Office, and email; plus six months’ health care facility clinical experience.
• Clinical education including Prime Path Bridge Program, or completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; some knowledge of medical terminology.

Expected pay for this position is $18.85 - $21.21/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Medical Office Assistants perform clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training and experience.

Works in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical and assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities.

The Medical Office Assistant performs duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High School Diploma/ GED
• Experience: Minimum of six months’ experience with computer, Microsoft Office, and email. Minimum of 6 months’ health care facility clinical experience.
• OR Clinical education (including evidence of current enrollment or completion of OSF Medical Group Prime Path Bridge Program
• OR Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Some knowledge of medical terminology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience: Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent. Minimum of six months’ experience as a medical office assistant (MOA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent. Minimum of six months’ experience with an electronic health record.
