Job summary

NASPAC is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to support front desk operations and clinical staff at our Pennsylvania offices. You will register and check-out patients, collect payments, maintain records, and assist with MRI pre-approvals and prior authorizations, with travel between offices as needed.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in a healthcare setting, strong customer service, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with Electronic Medical Records such as OmniMD.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some college preferred.
  • CPR license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Register and/or check-out all patients for appointments.

  • Obtain updated demographics at each visit.

Job Summary

The Medical Office Assistant will provide excellent customer service at our front desk operations and various support duties to our clinical team. The Office Assistant will work directly with healthcare practice staff to register and check-out all patients, collect samples, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures, and assist in the overall success of our day. Travel may be required.

Essential & Non-Essential Job Functions/Position Responsibilities:
  • The Medical Office Assistant performs a wide range of duties, including, but not limited to the following:
  • Register and/or check-out all patients for appointments.
  • Collect co-payments and/or account balances
  • Obtain updated demographics at each visit.
  • Record patient information in OmniMD.
  • Assist patients with obtaining MRI prior approvals.
  • Assist patients with obtaining prior authorizations for medications.
  • Assist patients with necessary forms at check-in or check-out.
  • Work in the front office taking care of tasks such as answering phone calls, greeting patients as they enter office, and maintaining patient records.
  • Assist the nurse and office manager in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice.
  • Always practices good customer services in all situations.
  • Occasional travel between offices is required for cross coverage of our patient locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Has computer skills and ability to learn/operate software programs.
  • Maintains professional appearance and demonstrates professional attitude at all times.

Minimum Education/Certifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge working with Electronic Medical Records.
