Job summary

NASPAC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our clinical team across Cherry Hill and Princeton locations. You will collect specimens, maintain records, explain procedures, and assist with procedures, while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in healthcare, proficiency with EMR, MS Office, and a CPR certificate, and a commitment to high-quality patient service; travel between offices is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a healthcare practice or hospital.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will provide excellent customer service and provide various support duties to our clinical team. The Medical Assistant will work directly with healthcare practice patients, collect test samples, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures, and assist in the overall success of our day.

Essential & Non-Essential Job Functions/Position Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to and from the exam/procedure rooms.
  • Collect urine specimens at each visit, and process according to visit guidelines.
  • Record patient information such as vital signs, height and weight, and changes in medical history at each appointment.
  • Medication Reconciliation in EMR.
  • Communicate to providers using the EMR to change the status of the room patients are assigned to and do verbal handoff to providers on patient status prior to the visit.
  • Assist providers with minor procedures.
  • Collecting and updating patient HX and medical records.
  • Clean, stock, and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
  • Work in the front office taking care of tasks such as answering phone calls, greeting patients as they enter office, and maintaining patient records.
  • Assist the nurse and office manager in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed.
  • Administer medications under the supervision and direction of the provider.
  • Prepare equipment for sterilization.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice.
  • Always maintain good customer service in all situations.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate information in an organized and clear manner.
  • Able to maintain and demonstrate strict confidentiality of all information.
  • Commitment to reflect quality assurance and risk management in daily tasks.
  • Has computer skills and ability to learn/operate software programs.
  • Maintains professional appearance and demonstrates professional attitude at all times.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and maintain punctual attendance.

Hourly Rate: $18.50

Position Requirements
Minimum Work Experience
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience working or a healthcare practice or hospital
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge working with Electronic Medical Records.
Minimum Education/Certifications
  • Current certificate from an accredited NJ, PA, or DE Medical Assistant training school.
  • Current CPR license
