Job summary

Rushford Center (The Ridge Recovery Center) in Windham, CT, seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant, CNA, EMT, or PCT to provide basic patient care and support to individuals with substance use disorders. The Medical Navigator will assist clinical staff, collect data such as vital signs and lab results, and help ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Medical Assistant program or related credential.
• Active CT CNA or EMT certification is acceptable.
• One year of direct medical patient care may substitute education.
• Experience in addiction treatment or mental health is preferred.
• CPR training and AED training must be completed within six months.

Responsibilities

• Process admissions and complete required documentation.
• Coordinate with admissions staff and related departments for expedient intake.
• Take vitals and observe urine drug screens; report anomalies to nursing staff.
• Orient clients to facility rules and provide basic counseling.
• Manage client discharge procedures and ensure all forms are signed.
• Lead non-clinical group activities as needed.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies; perform audits.
• Liaise with outside contracting services for prompt requests.
• Perform other related duties as required.
