Job summary

LeoForce is seeking a Medical Malpractice Paralegal with mid-level experience to support attorneys on complex malpractice matters. You will conduct extensive legal research, prepare pleadings, and manage discovery.

The role emphasizes organization, timely filing, and clear communication with clients, experts, and court personnel. ABA-approved paralegal certification and 5+ years in medical malpractice are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years as a paralegal, specifically medical malpractice.
  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent.
  • Proficient in legal research and writing with strong medical terminology knowledge.

Job Description

Experience: Mid Level

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

Responsibilities
  • 1. Conducting extensive legal research and analysis on various medical malpractice cases.
  • 2. Assisting attorneys in preparing for trials, depositions, and mediations.
  • 3. Drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, and subpoenas.
  • 4. Filing legal documents with the appropriate courts and ensuring proper service.
  • 5. Investigating and fact-finding for cases, including interviewing witnesses and gathering medical records.
  • 6. Assisting in the preparation of legal arguments, applications, declarations, and motions.
  • 7. Maintaining communication with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • 8. Managing and organizing case files and documents, ensuring all important information is easily accessible and up-to-date.
  • 9. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • 10. Coordinating the discovery process, including drafting discovery requests and responses, organizing discovery materials, and coordinating depositions.
Qualifications
  • 1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, specifically in medical malpractice.
  • 2. A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent legal experience.
  • 3. Proficient in legal research and writing, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
  • 4. Excellent understanding of the litigation process, including filing and drafting legal documents.
  • 5. Familiarity with liability laws and regulations.
  • 6. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • 7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • 8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
