Job summary

Jobot in Berwyn, PA seeks an experienced paralegal specializing in medical malpractice to support litigation teams and manage case preparation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct extensive legal research and analysis on medical malpractice cases.
• Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, depositions, and mediations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, and subpoenas.
• File legal documents with courts and ensure proper service.
• Investigate and fact-find for cases, including interviewing witnesses and gathering medical records.
• Assist in preparing legal arguments, applications, declarations, and motions.
• Maintain communication with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Manage and organize case files and documents for easy access.
• Monitor compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Coordinate the discovery process, including drafting discovery requests and responses.

Qualifications

• 1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, specifically in medical malpractice.
• 2. A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent legal experience.
• 3. Proficient in legal research and writing, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
• 4. Excellent understanding of the litigation process, including filing and drafting legal documents.
• 5. Familiarity with liability laws and regulations.
• 6. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• 7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• 8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
