Job summary

LeoForce is seeking a Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join its boutique firm on the Main Line. The role focuses on extensive legal research, trial preparation, and drafting legal documents in medical malpractice cases.

You will manage case files, coordinate discovery, and maintain client communications while ensuring regulatory compliance. A Paralegal Certificate ABA-approved and 5+ years of medical malpractice experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience in medical malpractice.
  • Proficient in legal research and drafting.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Experience with litigation filings and document preparation.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct extensive legal research and analysis on medical malpractice cases.
  • Assist attorneys in trials, depositions, and mediations.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, and subpoenas.
  • File documents with courts and ensure proper service.
  • Investigate facts, interview witnesses, gather medical records.
  • Prepare legal arguments, declarations, and motions.
  • Maintain client, expert, opposing counsel, and court communications.
  • Organize and update case files and documents.
  • Monitor compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate discovery, draft requests/responses, and arrange depositions.

Job Details
Responsibilities
  • 1. Conducting extensive legal research and analysis on various medical malpractice cases.
  • 2. Assisting attorneys in preparing for trials, depositions, and mediations.
  • 3. Drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, and subpoenas.
  • 4. Filing legal documents with the appropriate courts and ensuring proper service.
  • 5. Investigating and fact-finding for cases, including interviewing witnesses and gathering medical records.
  • 6. Assisting in the preparation of legal arguments, applications, declarations, and motions.
  • 7. Maintaining communication with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • 8. Managing and organizing case files and documents, ensuring all important information is easily accessible and up-to-date.
  • 9. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • 10. Coordinating the discovery process, including drafting discovery requests and responses, organizing discovery materials, and coordinating depositions.
Qualifications
  • 1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, specifically in medical malpractice.
  • 2. A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent legal experience.
  • 3. Proficient in legal research and writing, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
  • 4. Excellent understanding of the litigation process, including filing and drafting legal documents.
  • 5. Familiarity with liability laws and regulations.
  • 6. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • 7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • 8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
