Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Medical Malpractice Litigation Associate to join our team. This role offers a dynamic caseload in a nationally recognized firm with opportunities to work on complex medical malpractice matters, including insurance defense, elder abuse, and catastrophic injury.

The successful candidate will hold a JD, be licensed in CA, have at least 3 years of litigation experience, and strong trial and research skills. Hybrid/remote flexibility across LA, SD, Irvine offices is available.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Must be licensed to practice law in CA.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in litigation.
• Proven trial experience and a strong record of successful case resolution.
• Expert knowledge of healthcare regulations and medical malpractice laws.
• Federal court admissions in Central / Southern Districts are a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple cases independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics and client confidentiality.
• Strong research skills and proficiency in legal research tools.
• Proficiency in using legal software for case management and document handling.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage a diverse caseload of medical malpractice claims, including insurance defense, elder abuse, and catastrophic injury cases.
• Conduct thorough and detailed investigations to identify potential legal issues and develop effective defense strategies.
• Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, demonstrating exceptional trial advocacy skills.
• Collaborate with medical professionals, expert witnesses, and other legal professionals to build compelling defense cases.
• Provide legal advice to clients on risk management and malpractice prevention, ensuring they are kept informed of case progress and legal developments.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in medical malpractice law and healthcare regulations to provide the most accurate advice and defense.
