Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dynamic Litigation Attorney with a medical malpractice background to join our national law firm. You will manage all aspects of cases from inception to resolution, including strategy, discovery, motions, trial and appeal, working in a fast-paced team.

Required: Juris Doctorate, active FL Bar, at least two years of litigation experience, strong research and writing, and excellent negotiation and communication skills. We offer robust benefits and a career-minded environment.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Active Florida bar in good standing.
  • Minimum 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Proven track record in court and managing complex litigation.
  • Excellent negotiation, client relations, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of medical malpractice litigation, including research, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and trial.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case strategies and stay updated on laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review pleadings, briefs, motions, appeals, and legal opinions.
  • Represent clients in court, argue motions, attend depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Negotiate settlements and advise clients on their legal rights and obligations.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to provide guidance and support.
  • Maintain client relationships with utmost confidentiality and ethics.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle all aspects of medical malpractice litigation, including research, drafting pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and trial.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case strategies and to stay updated on current laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review various legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, appeals, and legal opinions.
  • Represent clients in court and argue motions, attend depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Negotiate settlements for legal disputes and advise clients on their legal rights and obligations.
  • Foster and maintain client relationships while ensuring the utmost confidentiality and adherence to professional ethics.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys and paralegals, providing guidance and support as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be a member in good standing with the FL state bar.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a litigation attorney, preferably in medical malpractice.
  • Demonstrated experience in legal research and writing, with a strong ability to draft and interpret legal documents.
  • Proven track record of representing clients in court and managing complex litigation cases.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to resolve disputes in the best interest of the client.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound legal judgments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
