Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform waived, moderate and highly complex tests in a hospital laboratory setting.

You will operate instruments, ensure accurate results, and help maintain supplies and compliance with QA policies. The role includes phlebotomy duties when assigned, participation in ongoing education, and collaboration with the technical team to uphold standards of care in the Bethlehem area.

Qualifications

• MLT certification or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an accredited MLT program or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to perform waived to highly complex laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderate and highly complex laboratory tests as designated.
• Operates laboratory instrumentation and recognizes malfunctions.
• Performs routine tests in other laboratory sections as assigned.
• Performs phlebotomy duties as assigned.
• Monitors inventory of supplies and reports low volume to supervisor/lead technologist.
• Accurately transcribes test results or enters results into the LIS.
• Follows policies for documentation of critical values, reagent lots and QA data.
• Notifies supervisors of technical problems.
• Attends continuing education or trainings to meet accrediting standards.
• Demonstrates competency in assigned responsibilities.
