Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, ID seeks a part-time Medical Technologist (PRN) to join our clinical laboratory team. The role covers performing low to high complexity testing, phlebotomy when needed, QC, instrument maintenance, and accurate reporting of results in alignment with regulatory standards.

Competenze

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• ASCP certification or registry eligible and obtained within 1 year of hire date.
• Certification as MT/MLS/CLS or equivalent by ASCP or eligible is required or obtained within 1 year of hire.

Mansioni

• Performs, records and reviews QC and takes corrective action when data is outside established limits.
• Performs routine maintenance of equipment and documents instrument performance, escalating as needed.
• Verifies specimen labeling, integrity and suitability before testing.
• Performs low, medium and high complexity testing according to established protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Reports test results accurately and promptly; communicates critical results per protocol.
• Prioritizes workload to maintain efficiency and assist other areas as needed.
• Performs phlebotomy when required per policies and procedures.
• Monitors supply inventory and ensures needed supplies are available.
• Reviews work performed by clinical laboratory assistants and takes corrective actions if needed.
• Works independently, resolves problems quickly, and communicates with oncoming shift and nursing/physician staff.
