Job summary

Macon County General Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform a range of hematologic, chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic and microbiologic tests with accuracy and speed. You will support quality assurance activities and may assist in developing protocols for new methodologies.

The role requires Tennessee licensure as an MLT, an Associate’s degree in Biological Sciences or Medical Technology, and experience meeting registry requirements.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the State of Tennessee as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in Biological Sciences or Medical Technology with licensure.
• Experience fulfilling clinical requirements to qualify for the registry examination.
• Good communication skills, detail oriented; ability to work alone or with others.

Responsibilities

• Perform hematologic, chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic and microbiologic testing.
• Support PI activities and quality assurance/performance improvement efforts.
• Assist in training laboratory personnel and developing protocols.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies.
