Johnston-Willis Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to uphold lab policies, assist in tech-in-charge duties, and participate in annual competency testing. You will ensure quality control, prepare specimens, and support staff in a high-volume clinical setting.

Qualified candidates will hold an associate degree in Medical Technology or related science, with nursing degrees considered if CLIA courses are included. ASCP/AMT licensure is preferred.

Qualificações

• Demonstrates independent decision-making and tech-in-charge duties when needed.

• Assists with specimen handling and routine department tasks.

Responsabilidades

• Performs daily lab tasks and prioritizes workload.
• Troubleshoots instrument issues and logs corrective actions.
• Maintains quality control within limits and logs results.
• Performs preventative maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Trains new staff on policies and procedures.
• Communicates patient data appropriate to age group.
• Complies with patient safety goals and protocols.
