El Centro Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform laboratory tests, follow quality control and quality assurance protocols, and train personnel while maintaining equipment. The role differentiates from the CLS by performing waived and moderate complex testing under supervision, with no microscopy testing allowed by California/CLIA regulations.
Required qualifications include an Associate’s Degree and six months of clinical training or internship.
The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing laboratory test results, following quality control, quality assurance protocols, training personnel and maintaining equipment. The Medical Laboratory Technician is distinguished from the Clinical Laboratory Scientist in that the incumbent performs only waived (un-supervised) and moderate complex testing (under supervision) to include no microscopy testing defined by the State of California and CLIA ’88 federal regulations.
