Job summary

Palomar Health in Escondido, CA is seeking a Laboratory-Clinical Technician to perform waived or moderately complex tests in accordance with state and federal regulations. You will prepare specimens, ensure accuracy of results, and operate the laboratory computer system (logging, entering, verifying results).

You will calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, assist in training new staff, and interact professionally with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure.
• Experience: 0 - 6 months preferred; 1 - 2 years preferred in some lines.

Department: Laboratory-Clinical Union: Shift: 8-hour Shift - Day (United States of America) Hours Per Pay Period: 20 Salary Range: $32.39 - $48.66 Job Description: Range: 32.39-48.66 Posting Date: 9/24/2026 Perform laboratory tests of waived or moderate complexity defined by State and Federal regulations. Perform and demonstrate proficiency and understanding of procedures in one or more areas of the clinical laboratory except microscopy and immunohematology. Prepares and ensures specimen acceptability and accuracy of results. Operates the laboratory computer system including logging specimens, entering and verifying results, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment with proper documentation. Assist in training and orientation of new staff. Interacts with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop-down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job.
