Job summary

Sanford Health in Beaver Dam is seeking a Laboratory Technician to manage pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical testing across the laboratory workflow.

You will follow standard operating procedures, ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance, and serve as a resource to healthcare personnel while collaborating with other departments. This PRN position offers varied shifts to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Laboratory Science is required.
• Possess national certification for MLT or CLT through an approved agency (e.g., ASCP) or be registry eligible.
• Registry-eligible candidates must complete Board of Registry exam within 12 months of employment.
• ND licensed or provisional license may be required in North Dakota; maintain CE credits as needed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing.
• Follow SOPs and ensure laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel and collaborate with other departments.
• Demonstrate critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving.

Job Summary

Demonstrates critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Laboratory Science required.
• Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); or be registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment. If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed or have a provisional license, by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice. Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
