Job summary

Sanford Health Marsh Med Ctr Beaver Dam is accepting applications for a Laboratory Technician role. The individual will handle pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing steps, adhere to SOPs, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while serving as a resource to healthcare staff.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate's degree in Laboratory Science and national certification as MLT or CLT (ASCP or registry eligible).

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Laboratory Science is required.
• National certification for MLT or CLT through a recognized agency (e.g., ASCP) or registry eligible.
• Registry-eligible candidates must complete the Board of Registry exam within 12 months; ND licensing may be required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.

Job Summary

Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met. Serves as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel and collaborates with other departments across the enterprise. Demonstrates critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associates degree in Laboratory Science required.

Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); or be registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment. If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed or have a provisional license, by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice. Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
