Job summary

Sanford Health is hiring for a laboratory technologist role at Clear Lake Medical Center in Clear Lake, SD. The position involves pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic testing across the lab, following SOPs and ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

The role serves as a resource to health care staff and collaborates with various departments. Eligible candidates include those with MLT/CLT certification or registry eligibility, with ND licensing requirements applied as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Laboratory Science required.
• Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, e.g., ASCP; or be registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must complete the Board of Registry exam within 12 months of employment. If ND, license or provisional license may be required.

Job Summary

Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met. Serves as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel and collaborates with other departments across the enterprise. Demonstrates critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associates degree in Laboratory Science required.

Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); or be registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment. If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed or have a provisional license, by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice. Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
