Job summary

Logan Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform routine and complex tests in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and blood banking within an acute care setting. The MLT will calibrate and troubleshoot instruments, analyze results, and report critical values while maintaining QA/QC and safety standards.

The role requires an Associate's Degree in MLT or a related field. 1–3 years of hospital/diagnostic lab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required (MLT or related field).
• MLT (ASCP) upon hire preferred; BCLS upon hire may be required.
• 1–3 years clinical laboratory experience in hospital/diagnostic setting preferred.
• Proficiency with LIS/EMR and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex lab tests across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and blood banking.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot instruments per protocol.
• Analyze results, report critical values, and document findings.
• Maintain QA/QC procedures to ensure compliance.
• Perform specimen collection and assist in training staff.
• Communicate effectively with medical staff and other departments.
