Responsibilities

• Maintains technical competency related to job functions.
• Evaluates procedures and selects appropriate investigative techniques.
• Identifies and resolves problems that may affect test results; notifies personnel.
• Determines specimen acceptability by visual inspection; handles unacceptable specimens per policy.
• Communicates specimen requirements and coordinates with personnel.
• Troubleshoots laboratory instruments and clinical problems; uses complex problem-solving skills.
