Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required.
• Certified or eligible for certification in clinical laboratory science.
• Clinical Laboratory Science Certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical competency related to job functions.
• Understand LIS functions and perform downtime procedures.
• Evaluate procedures and select appropriate investigative techniques.
• Identify and resolve issues that could affect test results and notify staff.
• Assess specimen acceptability by visual inspection or review of results.
• Document unacceptable specimens and communicate specimen requirements.
• Monitor job functions and act on detected problems.
• Identify problems with specimens, test orders or registrations and take action.
• Troubleshoot professionally and inform coworkers of delays.
• Apply complex problem-solving to resolve clinical and instrument issues.
