Job summary

Aspirus Merrill Hospital in Merrill, WI is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for part-time or 0.6 FTE, working 12-hour weekend day shifts (6am - 6pm). The MLS performs complex chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological and microscopic testing in the Central Clinical Laboratory with independent judgment.

Qualifications include an associate or bachelor's degree in laboratory science, preferably MT/MLT/CLS certified or eligible within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of laboratory standards and practices acquired through an associate or bachelor's degree in laboratory science.
• Previous applicable experience beneficial.
• Possesses active MT-ASCP, MLT-ASCP or CLS-NCA certification or attains within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological, and microscopic tests in the Central Clinical Laboratory.
• Provides interpretation and uses independent judgment in accordance with CLIA high-complexity testing.

12-hour weekend only day shifts (6am - 6pm)

The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological, and microscopic procedures in the Central Clinical Laboratory that require the exercise of independent judgment and interpretation. All individuals in the job classification meet the qualifications necessary to perform high complexity testing as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA 88).

Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge of laboratory standards and practices acquired through completion of an associate or bachelor's degree in laboratory science.
• Previous applicable experience beneficial.
• Possesses active Medical Technology (MT-ASCP), Medical Lab Technician (MLT-ASCP) or CLS-NCA certification or attains within 6 months of hire.
