Job summary

Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist/Scientist to join our LABORATORY team. Will consider MLS or MLT.

The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological, and microscopic procedures in the Central Clinical Laboratory that require independent judgment. PM shifts with occasional weekend coverage are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• Previous applicable experience beneficial.
• Active MT-ASCP or MLS-ASCP certification, or obtain within 12 months.
• Annual competencies as required by Aspirus/regulators.
• Current BLS certification may need to be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological and microscopic procedures.
• Exercise independent judgment and interpretation for high complexity testing.
• Work in the Central Clinical Laboratory per CLIA standards.

Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist/Scientist to join our LABORATORY team!

Will consider either MLS or MLT

The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological, and microscopic procedures in the Central Clinical Laboratory that require the exercise of independent judgment and interpretation. All individuals in the job classification meet the qualifications necessary to perform high complexity testing as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA 88).

HOURS: 1.0 FTE/80 hours every two weeks, PM shifts Monday-Friday with weekend coverage as needed

Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge of laboratory standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• Previous applicable experience beneficial.
• Possesses active Medical Technology (MT-ASCP), Medical Laboratory Science certification (MLS-ASCP), or equivalent or attains within 12 months of hire.
• Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position.
• Current BLS certification may need to be obtained- All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
