Aspirus Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, WI is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Lab Technician to join the Central Clinical Laboratory. The role covers a range of testing and requires independent judgment under CLIA guidelines, with Day/PM rotation and every third weekend/holiday coverage.

Candidates should hold an associate or bachelor’s degree in laboratory science and active MT-ASCP, MLT-ASCP, or CLS-NCA certification (or obtain it within 6 months).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of laboratory standards and practices acquired through an associate or bachelor’s degree in laboratory science.
• Previous applicable experience beneficial.
• Certification MT-ASCP, MLT-ASCP or CLS-NCA or attainment within 6 months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Performs chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological and microscopic testing.
• Exercises independent judgment and interpretation in the Central Clinical Laboratory.
• Works under CLIA guidelines to perform high complexity testing.

The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological, and microscopic procedures in the Central Clinical Laboratory that require the exercise of independent judgment and interpretation. All individuals in the job classification meet the qualifications necessary to perform high complexity testing as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA 88).

Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge of laboratory standards and practices acquired through completion of an associate or bachelor's degree in laboratory science.
• Previous applicable experience beneficial.
• Possesses active Medical Technology (MT-ASCP), Medical Lab Technician (MLT-ASCP) or CLS-NCA certification or attains within 6 months of hire.
