Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for the Specimen Processing team. You will perform laboratory testing, troubleshoot equipment, validate new tests, and support software and lab technology implementation.

You will contribute to process improvement and quality programs, assist in understanding results, and coach students and staff as you advance in the role. The position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science or MLT required or
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related science field or Molecular Genetic Technology
  • Successful completion of NAACLS accredited program required

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing specific to the assigned section.
  • Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Ensure quality control data is appropriate and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Validate new methodologies and tests; set up connectivity with support.
