Join MD Anderson's Cytopathology team as a Medical Technician 1 and play an important role in preparing and processing specimens that support accurate cancer diagnosis and treatment. You'll work within a specialized laboratory environment where specimen integrity, accurate identification, quality control, and attention to detail are essential to delivering reliable results for our patients.
What's in it for you? This role provides the opportunity to build and expand your technical expertise across a variety of cytopathology laboratory functions. You'll accession and process specimens, perform specialized procedures such as cell block and density gradient preparations for lymphoma marker studies, prepare reagents, and support daily staining and laboratory operations while developing proficiency with laboratory equipment and processes.
You'll also be an important part of maintaining a high-quality and efficient laboratory environment. From evaluating specimen integrity and performing quality control measures to troubleshooting equipment and tracking specimens through the Beaker LIS, you'll use your technical skills, organization, and problem-solving abilities to help ensure every specimen is handled accurately and efficiently.

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Basic science.
Required: 3 years In a clinical medical laboratory or similar setting or with preferred degree, no experience required.
