Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform clinical chemistry testing in a state-of-the-art laboratory.

You will analyze patient specimens, verify results, monitor quality control, and troubleshoot instruments while maintaining regulatory compliance and documenting results in LIS. You will participate in process improvements and mentor students and staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with an Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology.
• 1 year of clinical laboratory experience with a Bachelor's Degree in a related science field.
• No experience required with completion of a NAACLS-accredited Clinical Laboratory Science/Molecular Genetic Technology accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Analyze patient specimens and evaluate test results.
• Monitor quality control data and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Document testing information within the LIS.
• Manage laboratory inventory and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Train students, staff and fellows and participate in process improvement.
