Job summary

Mountain View Hospital in Idaho Falls is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our laboratory team. The role covers Chemistry, Blood Bank, Hematology, Microbiology and/or Immunology, with emphasis on QC, calibrations, and instrument maintenance.

You will provide excellent service to patients, physicians, and staff while prioritizing urgent STAT cases. The ideal candidate holds a MLS/MT/CLS certification, 1–2 years’ experience, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science with MLS/MT/CLS national certification or registry eligibility.
• Current BLS certification.
• New graduates must be registry eligible and sit for the board exam within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine lab test procedures per SOPs and reports results with QA/QC adherence.
• Correlates clinical data and reports discrepancies to lead or supervisor.
• Collects and directs specimen collection with proper patient ID and safety policies.
• Maintains and operates lab equipment; troubleshoots instrument issues.
• Participates in quality management, training, and continuous education.
• Collaborates with lab staff to ensure timely, accurate test results.
