Mountain View Hospital in Idaho Falls seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform chemistry, blood bank, hematology, microbiology, and immunology testing with strict QA/QC adherence. You will calibrate analyzers, maintain equipment, and provide excellent patient and physician service in a fast-paced lab.
The role requires a BS in Medical Technology or equivalent, MLS/MT/CLS certification, and BLS. Experience and flexibility for various shifts are a plus in this busy Laboratory Department.
Performs the daily activities related to Chemistry, Blood Bank, Hematology, Microbiology and/or Immunology. Ensures the validity of test results by performing calibrations, quality controls, and routine maintenance on all analyzers and manual tests. Provide excellent customer service on the phone and in person, to patients, physicians, and other medical staff. Must work well under pressure, troubleshoot analyzers and equipment, prioritize specimens (STAT, Urgent, Routine, etc.), multitask, and be flexible in order to accommodate laboratory needs.

Education/Certification: BS in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Laboratory Science with MLS/MT/CLS national certification or equivalent. Current BLS Certification. Valid driver’s license. New graduates must be registry eligible & sit for the board of certification exam within 6 months of hire. Must obtain a national certification within 1 year of hire.
Experience: 1-2 years preferred, including a practical training program. Previous experience in microbiology and blood banking is desirable
Equipment/Technology: Basic computer knowledge (Word and Excel) and skills in lab information systems
Language/Communication: Ability to read and communicate (oral and written) effectively in English. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely.
