IGH Hospital seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological tests for patient diagnosis, handling specimens safely and efficiently. The role includes quality control, phlebotomy, and reporting results to medical staff, with duties spanning policy support and staff training.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, national certification or eligibility, and at least one year of MLS/MLT experience in the United States;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• National certification (e.g., ASCP, AMT, NAACLS) or eligibility with certification expected within six months of hire.
• One year of experience as a MLS/MLT in the United States preferred; new graduates will be considered but must pass a certifying exam within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate laboratory tests and analyses to assist in patient diagnosis and care.
• Collects and handles specimens safely following infection control procedures.
• Provides patient care using lab processes as a framework, prioritizing identified needs.
• Participates in orientation, training, and education of new staff, students, and consumers.
• Assists in developing and revising lab policies, data collection, and special projects.
• Projects a positive, professional image supporting IGH's goals and values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
