The Medical Lab Technologist (MLT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) ensures consistent regulatory compliance, coordinates the day-to-day operations of the laboratory system, and assists in the leadership of the Westfields Hospital and Clinic Laboratory.
Work Schedule: 40 hrs. weekly / 1.0 FTE
Required Qualifications:
MLT:
- Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or other programs satisfying the certification requirements of the National Accrediting Agency of Clinical Laboratory Science, or
- Department of Health and Human Services certificate as Medical Technologist (HEW) and High School Diploma
MLS:
- Bachelor’s degree with courses in biological and physical sciences or a baccalaureate-level clinical laboratory education program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency of Clinical Laboratory Science or similar recognized agency.
- Current certification as Medical Technologist (MT) or equivalent by a national board of registry ASCP. If a new graduate, eligibility to sit for certification is acceptable.
- Knowledge of lab testing capabilities for Immunohematology, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Serology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Phlebotomy.
