The Medical Lab Technologist (MLT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) ensures consistent regulatory compliance, coordinates the day-to-day operations of the laboratory system, and assists in leading the Westfields Hospital and Clinic Laboratory.
Work Schedule: 40 hrs. weekly / 1.0 FTE
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with courses in biological and physical sciences or a baccalaureate-level clinical laboratory education program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency of Clinical Laboratory Science, the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools, or an agency recognized by the United States Office of Education.
- Current certification as Medical Technologist (MT) or equivalent by a national board of registry ASCP. If a new graduate, eligibility to sit for certification is acceptable.
- Knowledge of lab testing capabilities for Immunohematology, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Serology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Phlebotomy.
OR
- Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or other programs satisfying the certification requirements of the National Accrediting Agency of Clinical Laboratory Science.
or
- Department of Health and Human Services certificate as Medical Technologist (HEW) and a High School Diploma.
