Bon Secours is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for the Richmond Health Source Shared Services to perform routine testing on blood, tissues, and other specimens, delivering high-quality results with patient safety in focus.

The position requires a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLIA-approved) and MLS certification or eligibility. Evening shift duties include strict adherence to protocol, quality control, and collaboration with clinicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science through a CLIA-approved program (required)
• MLS Certification or eligible by a nationally recognized certification agency (ASCP preferred) (required)
• Externship program completed (preferred)
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner per procedures
• Determines acceptability of specimens by visual inspection or by recognizing abnormal/unusual results
• Recognizes factors affecting measurements and takes appropriate action per protocols
• Performs quality control for all testing and ensures results meet established ranges
• Maintains a safe and efficient work environment via equipment checks and cleaning; supports lab operations
