HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Technician in Microbiology. The role conducts tests on patient samples using biomedical instrumentation, microscopes and computers, and reports data to physicians for diagnosis and treatment.

Full-time, 40 hours weekly, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, Monday–Friday with every other weekend. Requires NAACLS MLS/MT or ASCP certification and a relevant bachelor's degree. Experience in accredited labs preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with coursework in biological sciences, chemistry and mathematics.
• Successful completion of NAACLS-accredited MLS/MT program or ASCP certification.
• Two years of full-time lab experience in an accredited lab preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a variety of tests on patient samples to detect health conditions.
• Operate biomedical instrumentation, microscopes, and computers to study samples.
• Provide data to physicians for diagnosis and treatment.
