Qualifications

  • Knowledge of molecular and serologic HLA typing methodologies.
  • Experience with antibody screening and transplant-related immunologic testing.
  • Ability to operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain specialized laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to follow CAP, CLIA, laboratory, and transplant standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex HLA and histocompatibility testing on patient and donor specimens.

  • Perform crossmatching and compatibility testing for organ and tissue transplantation.
  • Process and evaluate specimens according to established laboratory procedures.
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain specialized laboratory equipment.
  • Analyze, interpret, validate, and report complex laboratory results within turnaround times.
  • Perform quality control, quality assurance, proficiency testing, and regulatory activities.
  • Assist with validation, verification, and implementation of new testing methodologies.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and quality-control records.
  • Communicate findings to pathologists, transplant teams, physicians, and healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with training, mentoring, and competency assessment of laboratory staff.
  • Monitor inventory and ensure reagents and supplies.
  • Participate in process-improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and safety procedures.

Job description

  • Perform complex HLA and histocompatibility testing on patient and donor specimens
  • Perform HLA typing using molecular and serologic methodologies
  • Conduct antibody screening, identification, and transplant-related immunologic testing

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology
  • Valid ASCP (or equivalent) certification
  • 2 years of clinical laboratory experience
  • Annual TB Screening
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Substance Abuse Testing
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Ability to perform complex HLA and histocompatibility testing
  • Knowledge of molecular and serologic HLA typing methodologies
  • Experience with antibody screening, identification, and transplant-related immunologic testing
  • Ability to operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain specialized laboratory equipment
  • Ability to follow CAP, CLIA, laboratory, and applicable transplant/histocompatibility standards
