Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist II at The Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. This testing role supports CLIA-defined duties, with supervision and independent work to ensure accurate results and records.

The position features a 32-hour weekly schedule, an hourly rate range, and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates. Training and ongoing professional development are encouraged within a collaborative hospital system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degrees in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or Laboratory Sciences.
• Medical Technologist (ASCP) certification is required.
• At least 2 years of laboratory experience.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and follow written protocols.
• Strong teamwork and communication with staff including physicians and hospital personnel.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing, and reporting test results.
• Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing across samples.
• Adhere to quality control policies and equipment calibrations.
• Identify and report issues affecting test performance or results.
• Supervise day-to-day laboratory operations under supervision as assigned.
• Ensure proper documentation of corrective actions when systems deviate.
