Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Weymouth, MA is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist I to perform specimen processing, testing, and reporting for waived and non-waived tests in accordance with CLIA requirements. The role emphasizes accuracy and quality to support exceptional patient care through reliable diagnostic testing.

The position includes a Monday–Friday schedule from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with weekend rotation, and a $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered to welcome you to the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, Laboratory Sciences, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of laboratory experience required.
• Medical Technologist certification through ASCP Board of Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and perform authorized laboratory testing following established protocols and quality standards.
• Report patient test results accurately and maintain complete records in accordance with laboratory and regulatory requirements.
• Perform and document quality control activities, calibrations, instrument maintenance, and proficiency testing as required.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues that may impact test performance or result reporting, escalating concerns to the appropriate supervisor or consultant when needed.
• Document corrective actions when test systems deviate from established performance specifications.
• Collaborate professionally with physicians, hospital personnel, employees, and patients in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
