Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, FL is seeking an adaptable lab professional to perform pre-analytical activities, post-analytical reporting, and routine testing within SOPs. The role supports safety, education, and performance improvement in a busy clinical lab.

Work is full-time with day shifts, located at 60 Memorial Medical Pkwy, Palm Coast, FL 32164. The position includes opportunities to mentor staff and contribute to patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Pre-analytical activities: equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, supply stocking, specimen collection, processing, cleaning, disinfection of lab equipment and spaces.
• Conducts post-analytical activities: reporting results and providing technical support.
• Completes tests and analytical procedures accurately according to SOPs.
• Participates in proficiency testing and adheres to regulations and policies.
• May act as a preceptor for orientation and training of new employees and students.
• Guides technicians and support staff and resolves customer service issues within guidelines.
• Follows safety policies including PPE use, handwashing, and hazardous waste handling and completes required training.
• Participates in lab and hospital performance improvement activities.
• Evaluates new lab techniques and procedures and assists with data collection and special projects.
• Facilitates workflow and supports education to clinical staff as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
