Job summary

Memorial Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform routine tests on blood and other specimens, delivering quality results to physicians with a strong emphasis on patient safety.

The position requires a BS in a CLIA-approved program and MLS certification or eligibility (ASCP preferred). Externship experience is a plus. Compensation includes competitive pay and comprehensive benefits as described.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or related CLIA-approved program.
• MLS certification or eligibility with ASCP or equivalent.
• Externship program completed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens accurately and efficiently according to procedures.
• Determines specimen acceptability by visual inspection and result review.
• Recognizes factors affecting measurements and takes correct action per protocol.
• Performs quality control and ensures results meet established ranges.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and compliant work area; troubleshoots equipment as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
