Job summary

Geisinger Medical Laboratories is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. You will perform and report analyses from various specimen sources and act as a technical expert, especially when the Analytical Specialist is unavailable.

You will participate in competency testing, quality control, training, and the implementation of new testing methods, ensuring accuracy and safety in a high-quality laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science and ASCP certification or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in a role equivalent to Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in a clinical lab.
• Successful completion of initial and subsequent competency exams.

Responsibilities

• Performs and reports analyses from multiple specimen sources.
• Acts as technical expert and makes decisions in the absence of the Analytical Specialist.
• Troubleshoots instrument issues and maintains instrument performance.
• Participates in competency, proficiency testing, quality control, and inventory management.
