Job summary

Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform analyses from various specimens and ensure high-quality patient care. The role includes evening shifts (3pm-11:30pm) with possible 12-hour shifts, no travel, and a $20,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. in Medical Technology or a related field with appropriate ASCP/NAACLS certification and have clinical lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/MLS and successful completion of an ASCP/NAACLS-accredited Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science program.
• BS in a biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science with ASCP categorical certification.
• BS in relevant field with at least two years' experience in a role equivalent to MLT in a clinical lab.

Responsibilities

• Performs and reports analyses from multiple specimen sources.
• Maintains productivity and manages multiple work processes efficiently.
• Completes tasks in a timely manner and handles specimens properly.
• Performs instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/MLS

ASCP/NAACLS-certified Medical Technology program

Bachelor of Science in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science plus ASCP certification

Two years' experience in a clinical laboratory role equivalent to MLT
