Job summary

UW Health Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL, seeks a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist for 100% FTE day shift. The role supports a comprehensive benefits package and requires MLS-related education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in MLS or clinical laboratory science required.
• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.

Job description

Work Schedule:

100% FTE, Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm with rotating weekends. You will work at UW Health Swedish American Hospital 1401 E State St.

Additional components of compensation may include:

• Evening, night, and weekend shift differential
• Overtime
• On-call pay

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology. Required
• Bachelor's Degree in medical laboratory science (MLS). Preferred
• Master's Degree in medical laboratory science (MLS). Preferred

Work Experience

• No minimum experience required.
• 1 year healthcare or lab related work experience. Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Certification (Medical Lab Science, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Blood Banking, Molecular Biology) by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)or similar agency preferred. Preferred
