Job summary

UW Health Belvidere Hospital is hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician/Scientist to perform diagnostic testing across specialties, using advanced instrumentation and maintaining quality and reliability. The schedule is 90% FTE, 7:00 am–7:30 pm, three days a week, with rotating weekends and holidays at 1625 S State St Belvidere IL.

• Must provide copy of HS diploma or equivalent, or highest level of completed degree obtained. Required.
• One year experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or relevant laboratory experience preferred.

• Perform diagnostic laboratory testing across multiple specialties, helping provide critical results that support patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Utilize advanced laboratory technology and instrumentation while ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and reliability.
• Partner with physicians, caregivers, and laboratory professionals to deliver timely information that impacts patient care.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through quality assurance, troubleshooting, process enhancement, and ongoing professional development.

Job description

Work Schedule:

90% FTE, 7am - 730pm, 3 days a week. Rotating weekends and holidays. You will work at UW Health Belvidere Hospital 1625 S State St Belvidere IL.

Medical Lab Technician/Scientist to:

• Perform diagnostic laboratory testing across multiple specialties, helping provide critical results that support patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Utilize advanced laboratory technology and instrumentation while ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and reliability.
• Partner with physicians, caregivers, and laboratory professionals to deliver timely information that impacts patient care.

Additional components of compensation may include:

• Evening, night, and weekend shift differential
• Overtime
• On-call pay
