Medical Laboratory Scientist
Job Description:

Healthcare Talent Support is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist. This is a 3 month assignment with the potential to extend to a permanent opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist.
  2. Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  3. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  4. Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  5. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  6. Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
  7. Perform and document preventive maintenance.
  8. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
  9. Assist with processing of specimens, as needed.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
  2. Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  3. Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  4. High level of attention to detail.
  5. Strong communication and organizational skills.
  6. Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
  7. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
  8. Minimum 0-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required.

Compensation: Commensurate with training and experience

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  1. Schedule: Monday - Friday
  2. 8am - 5pm or 10am - 7pm
