Qualifications

  • Certification by ASCP or another accrediting agency must be obtained within one year of employment.

Summary of Job Duties: Performs testing of patient samples, interprets, reviews, and prepares patient test results for review by the Supervisor and/or Medical Director. Maintains all aspects of QC and QA relevant to CAP standards. Coordinates with staff from various departments for proper testing and reporting. Ensures adequate supplies and assists in employee/student training and competency.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Sciences OR approved ASCP discipline (30 semester hours in biology and chemistry, which may be obtained within, or in addition to, the Bachelor's). Certification by ASCP or another accrediting agency must be obtained within one year of employment.
  • CHT (ABHI) certification within 1 year of eligibility or hire date if eligible at hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory or clinical laboratory science
  • Previous clinical laboratory experience, preferably in microbiology
  • Current ASCP and/or CHT (ABHI) certification

Additional Information: The shift is 2:00 pm - 11:00 pm.
