Summary of Job Duties: This role is for a Medical Laboratory Scientist I in the Cell Therapy Lab at UAMS. Responsibilities include processing, freezing, and storing hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC), participating in thawing and transplant procedures, performing high-complexity testing, maintaining accurate paperwork, performing quality control and preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The staff will also assist with inspections, audits, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
• Eligible for ASCP Certification, with certification obtained within 1 year of eligibility

• Record and interpret test results with accuracy
• Perform quality control and maintenance on lab equipment
• Handle and process specimens properly, including identification, troubleshooting, and processing
