Oro Valley Hospital is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to perform routine and specialized tests on blood and body fluids under minimal supervision. The role supports patient care with timely test results, equipment troubleshooting, and data collection for regulatory compliance. May include teaching, phlebotomy duties, and shift collaboration.

The position is Full-Time, Days, with opportunities for professional growth and applicable clinical responsibilities in a busy laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW).
• 0-2 years of acute care experience.
• Minimum 1-year Blood Bank experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently with timely result reporting.
• Adheres to quality control procedures, reviews data, and takes corrective actions as needed.
• Conducts instrument checks and preventative maintenance per lab policies.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel or manufacturers.
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations, PPE use, and Laboratory Safety Plan.
• Communicates results and issues clearly with peers, supervisors, and staff.

Education
